The Indian Premier League is one of the most loved and watched T20 Cricket League in the world. Research back in 2014, IPL was the 6th most-watched sports event in all sorts of sports events in the world. Till now 12 editions have been completed and 13th edition is on way. Still, there are few months are remaining before the IPL 2020 starts but the hype is already created by Cricket analysts and fans.
Most expectedly the complete schedule of IPL 2020 will be announced in February 2020 just a month before the mega event starts but BCCI has announced the dates of the first and the last game of the 13th edition, Venues where the matches will be played and the team names which are going to participate in the tournament.
This year 8 teams will participate in IPL and each team has already secured the world-class talents in this year auctions. The first match will be played between the two most dangerous and successful teams of the IPL. The last year champions Mumbai Indians will take on the 2018 champions and their arch-rival Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their home ground Wankhede Stadium on 23rd March 2020.
The final will be played on 17th May 2020 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai but we have to wait until then for the championship top two contenders of IPL 2020.
IPL 13th Edition Stadiums and Venues:
The BCCI officials have already announced the venues and the stadiums of the IPL 2020. There are 9 different venues where 60 matches will be played between 23rd March and 17th May of 2020. Each stadium represents the iconic city of India and but most interesting about this year’s edition is that 2 matches will be played in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

1. Wankhede Stadium:
It is the home ground of Mumbai Indians which is one of the most successful teams of the IPL with 4 wins. This stadium is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra and capable of handling 32000 spectators. This stadium was established back in 1974.
2. M.A. Chidambaram Chepauk Stadium:
This stadium is the home ground of the Chennai Super Kings. This stadium was formerly known as Chepauk, Madras Cricket Club ground and located in one of the famous cities of Chennai in Tamilnadu. This Stadium is well capable of handling 38000 spectators.
3. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium:
The capacity of this ground is around 40000 and represents the home ground of Royal Challenger Bangalore. This stadium was established in 1969 and located in Bangalore, Karnataka.
4. Eden Gardens:
The home ground of one of the Iconic teams of Indian Premier League Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), this stadium was established back in 1864 and quite capable of handling 66000 spectators. This stadium represents the culturally rich city Kolkata, West Bengal.
5. Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium:
This stadium is also known as Arun Jaitley Stadium and it was established back in 1883. This iconic ground is home ground of Delhi Capitals and capable of containing 41820 spectators in a game. This stadium is located in Delhi.
6. Sawai Mansingh Stadium:
This stadium is the home ground of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and well capable of handling 30000 spectators in a game. This stadium is located at Jaipur, Rajasthan and this iconic stadium was established back in 1987.
7. PCA Stadium:
This stadium was constructed in 1983 in Mohali Punjab and can withhold the 26000 spectators at once. King XI Punjab owns this ground always gives its best in the roar of their passionate fans and supports.
8. R.G.I Cricket Stadium:
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was established back in 2004 and located in Hyderabad, Telangana. This ground can hold about 55000 spectators and the home ground of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
9. Sheik Zayed Cricket Stadium:
For the first time in IPL, 2 matches will be played in another country. These two matches will be played at the world-famous Shiekh Zayed cricket stadium located at Abu Dhabi, UAE. This stadium is capable of handling 20000 spectators and it was established back in 2004.
